For all the USA haters, I recommend doing a road trip from Chicago to LA via Route 66. In my opinion, it is one of the best ways to really understand the United States.
I have done it twice and it blows my mind every time. Only a very ignorant person would say that the United States has no culture.

Well, I'm not a USA hater, but have wanted to do that for a while.
This is something that throws me off every time. I was just riding Greyhounds through the Eastern USA and what blew my mind was how in-your-face people were. I had this bus driver who would just shout in to the speaker things like "OKAAAAAY YALL, I LUUUUUVVVVVV MY JOB IF ANY YALL HAVE OPEN ALCOHOL IN HERE I WILLLLLLLL NOT HESITATE TO THROW YOUR BUTT TO THA CURB AND CALL THE AUTHORITIES." It's kind of funny, but I also don't understand how this jives in a country so obsessed with customer service. It's extremely unprofessional, to me at least.
Consider, for a moment, that we are a nation descended from a collection of rebels, misfits and outcasts. And that, with the exception of those brought here in slave ships (and many of whom caught on quickly once the obstacles were removed) we all came there looking for something better. Under those conditions, it's natural for everyone to attempt to "take his cut off the top".
Passivity in a society lie ours will get you nowhere.
On a personal level they're good. Many Canadians have friends in the US and family. Canadians are generally more liberal in their approach to life.
It's is true Canadians in general know more about the US than the average American, which can be humorous at times.
Like all relationships it is sort of complex. As a rule Canadians are very happy to live in Canada. Our largest group of illegal workers in Canada come from the US…so some of them must like it here
"Americans are benevolently ignorant about Canada, while Canadians are malevolently well informed about the United States."
Don't know if this is staged or not but it was damn funny either way LOL
I lived in the US for a number of years. Most folks I met were virtually clueless about Canada.
