I don't really know much about American and Canadian relations. I guess Americans have an inferiority complex when it comes to certain things about Canada.
In my opinion Canadians are generally also more aesthetically pleasing to look at.
I think many people dislike the USA because we have achieved something very unique here.
I have been to Canada, Sweden, Germany and the Netherlands- probably my top 4 choices for alternatives and I find these countries very boring compared to the USA. Here in the USA, there is a very nice mixture of order and chaos.
I remember arriving at the Chicago airport after having spent 10 days in Sweden and Finland, and it was refreshing to order a burger at the McDonalds and deal with a Black girl who was very nice and definitely had some personality and attitude lol. People in these countries are too serious, too robotic and lack personaluty IMO
I'd just like an honest opinion about this, especially from Europeans and Asians. Its like everyone is against America and has a bone to pick against it. Is it because USA is the only superpower left? Is it because USA is the watchdog of the world and interferes with other countries? Is it because its perceived as colonizing and taking over oil reserves half a world away? Is it because of economic disparity or racism, in light of recent events going on?
It's not the American people, It's the government!!! They (the government) stick their nose where it doesn't belong. Always spying on other countries, including our allies.
Also when America's visit other countries most (not all) are ignorant of the customs of the host country.
After 25 years of military service and visiting over 15 different countries I have had both great and not so great visits with the folks of the host countries. They watch way too much American TV programs.
and last....... We're not the only superpower left.
thanks, I feel better now......

You didn't see a colored lady in Sweden by any chance?

On a personal level they're good. Many Canadians have friends in the US and family. Canadians are generally more liberal in their approach to life.
It's is true Canadians in general know more about the US than the average American, which can be humorous at times.
Like all relationships it is sort of complex. As a rule Canadians are very happy to live in Canada. Our largest group of illegal workers in Canada come from the US…so some of them must like it here

I've both criticized the US and defended it. Depends on what's being said.
I defend it (considering we are probably the most criticized nation) and get personally attacked for it while everyone else is free to defend their own countries... strange how that works.

Well, people like Trickey Dickey Nixon and his sidekick Spiro T. Agnew, senator McCarthy, Edgar J. Hoover and the lame duck idiot Gerry Ford and his alkie firstlady wife Betty managed to tarnish the image of the government.

We're supposed to value the opinion of someone who is grateful for cr@ppy McD's food. LMAO!
Someone who lives in Iowa has no right to call any place boring.
