It's music with roots in the UK but which developed into this distinctive style in the Appalachians and other rural areas of the US.

To each his own. And to clarify, I don't sit around and listen to this for hours - to me it's sort of like Jimi Hendrix or Aerosmith - great in small doses but a bit much for background music!

But hey, that's just my take on it!

I guess many "Black" stereotypes refer to people with West African (either Christian or Pagan) background and most "White" stereotypes refer to people with Western/Northern European background. Somalians, Ethiopians and Muslim Sahel people don't fit into the "Black" category as African-Americans or Ghanaians do and Sicilians, Russians, Greeks or Romanians don't fit into the "White" category as White Americans, Germans or British people do. Most Southern Europeans don't love animals as much as the English or Germans do, most Ethiopians aren't into dancing or eating chicken etc. as the West Africans (and their descendants) supposedly are. And Italians or Greeks definitely are better dancers on average than us Germans.

Americans are Americans, they are not African or European, as to race, I don't think they are Africans or Europids.

I wouldn't even know about that stereotype without all those American comedy shows Doesn't even make sense to most Austrians since a variety of fried chicken is considered to be one of our national dishes...
