In light of Scotland's recent election to decide whether or not to keep the United Kingdom together or split off into sovereignty, what do you think the future holds in united counties like the United Kingdom, United States, or Canada together in the future?
Do you see Scotland giving it another round, or perhaps Northern Irish resistance reigniting? Where does Wales and its sense of independence fit in to all of this?
The United States has some very raw political divisions that can often boil down to two different camps on the left and the right. The everyday American likely wouldn't ponder the breakup of our union though the media and political extremists make a lot of noise scapegoating one another. There has been mention and discussion every now and then of Texas splitting away on its own, and the Pacific Northwest forming its own republic of Cascadia joined with British Columbia in Canada. I don't see a likely breakup at the present time or near future but I wouldn't rule it out in 20, 30, or 40 years.
Canada's Parti Quebecois took a stab at the possibility of sovereignty this year but failed. Many French Canadians in Quebec are willing to go to great measures to preserve their distinct society and feels worlds away from provinces like Alberta.
So these unions are culturally split in many different ways. Do you think these three countries the unions will be able to remain cohesive going into the 21st century or do you think history and multiple dynamics may break them apart in the coming decades ahead?

I would think if this happened? WW3 did occur like the TV show .... Revolution ...was about a major calamity more then just states in disunity and political dysfunction ?

Do you know how many times we voted on this? How much money was wasted?
It's the Neverendum Referendum.
It won't happen in my lifetime. The majority don't want it.

I don't think the break up of the US will necessarily be violent. Might be messy though as those things which are currently under federal control would have to be reconciled somehow. I think a lot of regions in the US would mutually agree to part ways as each recognizes it's own place in the world. This would largely be done gradually and the federal government would become less and less relevant. to some degree this is already beginning to happen, especially in places like Washington and Oregon.
I think one day there will be a breakup and divide. Out of all, UK seems the most likely to breakup.
Spain looks like it might breakup and divide soon
