What are some accepting and safe countries to raise a black family? I'm in a very unique position where I can travel extensively with my children and would like to take advantage of that. I've heard mixed reviews regarding Canada, but wouldn't mind more input. I've lived in London, England for a few years and absolutely loved it (but hard to relocate there..easier with my husband being in military but now he's deceased). I've heard great things about Edinburgh, Scotland (also considered graduate school there). However, I would appreciate more suggestions. Any ideas on where I can raise my children outside of the USA?
You can pretty much say Europe, better from West to East. Outside of that it gets trickier. I've seen places in Asia (to include Middle East) where Black Menwere desired or at least equal, while black women were plagued by the "angry black women" stereotype, when not faced with general feminine bias,if anybody knew what to think of them at all.
Botswana (Most stable and peaceful countries in Africa)
Angola
Ghana (if you ignore the poverty)
Nigeria (if you ignore the massive inequality)
Barbados
Trinidad & Tobago (Large Indo / Indian populations)
Saint Lucia
Antigua & Barbuda
Bahamas
South Africa
Non Black majority / Plurality
STAY IN THE USA AFTER DOING ALOT OF RESEARCH AVOID EUROPE STAY IN THE USA PLEASE!
Choose middle class black neighborhoods in the US. I'm not saying Europe is bad but it seems in the USA people are more likely to except you.
The UK isn't bad for Black people but the US seems a step ahead of the UK regarding economic mobility among Blacks especially those of West Indian origin (so I've been told)
If you don't want to face
I don't want to scare you the Uk is one of the most excepting places in the world alongside the US, Netherlands and Sweden.
Netherlands is a good option, too!
Good luck

One caveat about the places you listed with majority black populations, is that places in Africa tend to look down on black Americans, and they are indifferent or something short of accepting in the Caribbean/West Indies.

But a place in Europe is more excepting? I don't think so maybe at the surface but underneath (some) white people look down on black people even subconsciously and that's something different to Africans looking down on black Americans..its more culture than the actual skin colour (or less where talking about colourism)

You also have to realize this is comparison to the USA. Though things have improved drastically, there is a reason so many affluent blacks fled the US in the early and mid 220th century to Europe(France in particular) and many continue to spend ample time in Europe. As bad as you think it may be, how many blacks are shot by the police there?

You make a good point. I've thought about the police issue especially since I have young black children. Although I'm raising them to be contributors to society, I am concerned how they will be perceived in spite of this in the US.
