Tripoli and Tunis for sure. They're Mediterranean gems. And what's wrong with them? Why do you put them with Dhaka and Kabul?

Baghdad, maybe pre-80s...I like its Mesopotamian history, but now it's gone to the drain sadly...

London today is a very different creature climate-wise; Spring thaw sets in earlier, skies are much clearer from mid-Spring to mid-Autumn, Summers noticeably hotter and Winters a little warmer. Downsides are the lack of snow, heavier and more unpredictable periods of rain, and the need for air conditioning on the tube.
Global warming is doing all the trick, do you think?

I've been to both and much as I really like Melbourne (and Aussies in general) I have to go with London. There is just SO many things to do it's mind-boggling. Vibrant theatre scene, tons of great museums, oh and the music is incredible. I love so many bands from that area (Elbow, Kasabian, Oasis, Arctic Monkeys just to name a few). The cost of living would be the only thing stopping me.

All of those bands you've mentioned are from northern England. Definitely not London.

That's true, but they play tons of live shows in London. I looked at Pollstar.com and Elbow are playing three nights in a row at a venue there.

You can see an amazing band any night of the week in London. It's a fantastic City for music.

Yes, I've noticed. I know Elbow and Kasabian are huge in the U.K. As they played the big stage at Glastonbury. If you mention them in the U.S. you get blank stares. I was fortunate to see both of them at a small venue in D.C.

If London is such a great place to live, why didn't it even make the top 10 of the most livable cities in the world?

New York and Paris didn't make the top ten either, but they are still amazing cities to both visit and live in.

Welcome to the world's most liveable delusion
