Vienna is far from America. I was tracking flights and a flight from Vienna had been over the air for 2 hours and it only reached here.
Another 6 hours to go.. Terrible
Quite frankly, 2 additional hours isn't that terribly long... 6 hours, 8 hours? It's not like I'm flying to the US on a regular basis, so it doesn't really matter.
Everybody know Dorothy from the Wizard of OZ was from Kansas, I'm surprised I didn't see more Kansas in the discussion. Who on the planet haven't seen the Wizard of OZ many times over.

Probably a couple billion people.
Why do we Americans assume that people all over the world are aware of certain American classics? I think the average human being, nowadays, is much more aware of Wicked than they are the Wizard of OZ, and i betcha that a lot of people have no clue that the two are connected.
Not everyone listens to that type of music. Shocker I know.
I don't listen to that type of music either but i still know the songs because they are classics, were very popular on Radio and TV.
Also "Louisiana Women, Missippippi Men", heard that song a lot while playing GTA San Andreas

I didn't mean that literally of course, it was more tongue-in-cheek. Just a simple little trivia tidbit that I though more people would have picked up on. Also, as a prior military person who have lived and travel to many places around the world, that classic film was still talked about. The base I was even stationed on show that film at a makeshift outdoor theater and invited the local kids, we had a huge turn out. Hopefully I didn't offend anyone else.

Okay...understood.
It is interesting what parts if various cultures spread and what doesn't. For example, one of my best friends grew up partially in Cambodia, and she said she vividly remembers that everywhere she went they would play the Bee Gees (this was early 90's). Who would have called that the Bee Gees would be that popular there?
Also, in parts of the world where there are very little Mexicans (like Europe or Asia), you are still bound to find Mexican restaurants as long as there are Americans. Due to American's (especially Californians and Texans) fondness for Mexican food, the cuisine tends to follow them wherever they go. The one burrito place I ran into Japan was actually owned by a Japanese who had married a Californian. lol.
