i work in politics so it varies depending on year. during even years i will take a short 4-6 week vacation in late summer, then take a longer 3-6 month break in the winter. during the odd years, i'll usually start the year off in vacation and that will end sometime in early to late spring. then will take another short 1-2 month vacation in the fall months. this can change tho. the only times i absolutely can't take breaks is the spring and early summer months of even years and fall months during presidential cycles every four years.
when i was growing up my family vacations would revolve around school schedules.
It's a guess, but I would say July and August. People with children would choose this time since the kids are out of school.
Others it will depend on how much time off they have and where in Canada they live.
I had 8 weeks off near the end of my working life. Depending on the year and my plans, I would take the 8 weeks all at once and head to Europe. If I wasn't going to Europe I would take 3 weeks in summer and stay in Vancouver. Love summer in Vancouver.
The rest I would take over the winter months and head to Mexico or SoCal.
When I first started working and had much less holidays and less money I would take the time in summer.
