Much appreciated. will look into Oxfordshire - it's just that we would like to be close to the ocean. Hence, the southwest preference.

If you want the sea Bath or Bristol might be the best place for you. The sea near there isn't that pretty but within an hour you can be in North Devon which is lovely and North Cornwall too. Bristol is a huge city so there might be more employment opportunities for you. But do try Bath too.
Otherwise if you are dead set on actually living the sea Plymouth and Exeter are the other 2 places but Plymouth has got very high unemployment and as a city IMHO is pretty awful, high crime, etc... I think it depends what your job is. If it's the kind of thing you can do from home then try to find a nice rural village in Cornwall or Devon though I have to warn you, it's very expensive as a lot of people have holiday cottages. I hope it helps.

Thank you Mooseketeer again. Am reading your messages in the thread "Anyone living in London" - very helpful as well. Will follow the thread there to keep on topic.
To anyone interested in Vancouver Canada, it is a very wonderful place to live. It has mountains and oceans and is very multi-cultural. Currently, the Province of British Columbia is having an economic boom. So if you're looking to live in Canada, check it out. Lots of jobs. Although house prices have gone haywire. Also, we'll be hosting the 2010 Winter Olympics.

Wow! As you can see on my name...I'm from Sweden. I'm just really amazed to see there are so many other Swedes here! Hey!? What happened to the Danish? Fell behind, like always...? I am so gonna get for that- please don't tell my cousins!
Varför är alla från Stockholm, förresten? Säger jag, född stockholmare, alltid stockholmare... Landet är bäst! Speciellt Småland...

And what happened to the Norwegians? Are they still out skiing? ;-)
Not sure why most people are from Stockholm, I guess it's most likely with it being the biggest city - I kind of grew up in the country though, but only 20 minutes from downtown Stockholm.
