It guess those numbers prove the old notion that people only see what they want to see (or don't want to see, but at the same time want to see in order to prove their point, for instance regarding the fear and dislike of Islam, which explains the huge difference in that area).
Why didn't the poll ask questions like: How many Muslims in your nation do you think are confronted with Islamophobia on a daily basis?
Because it would have made people like you look stupid and we can't have that now can we.
The questions are on key indicators that are used in many statistics on demographics. Those asking the questions are not responsible for the results they get. After all, the questions were put in an objective way, not suggestive like, do you agree there are too many immigrants here?

However, I think it mainly shows that most people in every country have a poor grasp of statistics and demographics.
In countries like Britain the London-centered media present the rest of the country with an image that just doesn't respond to most people's reality. When you watch BBC comedies you might believe 1 in 4 Brits is gay It's almost as if the media had quota for hiring minorities...
