I would actually say Slovakia and Hungary are rather similar.

Yes ironically even though there is persistent abnormal hatred between the two nations, Slovakia and Hungary are not that different. Btw to add further, there used to be a nation before WW2 which separated Ukraine from both Hungary and Slovakia, but soviets got rid of them, and now they only exist as a tiny minority in Slovakia.

On the Norwegian side you can pretty much walk up to the border (5-10 meter buffer zone).

I've visited Turkey and Georgia, I didn't see that much of a difference between them

I do not know about the Finns but several Norwegians cross the border illegally every year. It is mostly by mistake or people having fun. I belive the fine is around £240. A corporate helicopter crossed the border some years ago. They were fined around £1,400.

Russia-North Korea
Brazil-The Countries it borders
France-Germany
Haiti-Dominican Republic
Why do you think Brazil is that different from its neighbours?
In Amazon the forest crosses the borders, same for the Pantanal and the Pampas...

This part of France is not that different either. Acctually is a very disgusting part of France. The devastation and careless to the enviroment os closer to states like Mato Grosso and Rondonia than european discourses. (The bordering state of Amapá has a much better attitude...)
