Most of Russian territory has no coverage, but some spots that have - are pretty amazing. (Krasnodar, Khabarovsk, Saratov, Astana - my favorite place, Samarkand, Odessa...)

Can't you pretty much guess the conditions of the poor. Look at the informal shack settlements in South Africa, that will give ya a clue. Google Cape Flats, or read Anton Harbor's book on Diepsloot. There are plenty of pictures that show how people are living in the places you mentioned too. Read their newspapers. They do have some very nice upscale subdivisions in Nigeria and Ghana. I doubt you will be seeing street views in Nigeria anytime soon given the Boko Harem loons in that country continue to be more of a loose cannon all the time. Places with on going conflicts or bordering them, you won't be seeing some geek from Google driving about.

This gives a good idea how people are living in the Congo. Use your imagination what their places are like.

What I enjoy seeing is the natural beauty of the country. The business districts and the architecture of the towns and cities are interesting too.

You don't see much in the way of street maps in the Philippines either, though they are doing some in the Manila area. If they do other islands, I imagine they will stay on the main roads and not venture into small towns too far off the beaten path.

As far as privacy, in 2013 they agreed to pay $7M as part of a settlement to several US states after admitting that its Street View cars also collected passwords and e-mails from unencrypted Wi-Fi networks as they drove by neighborhoods.

By the way, how do you all like the newer version of maps? I much prefer the Google classic maps, the new one has too many boxes on it ya can't make go away. Some things they should just leave the hell alone.

Google talking about street maps in the Philippines.

No my angle was that many stereotypes of what Africa is like would be shattered. I think those Countries in Africa would have very rich areas literally side by side to places with crippling poverty.

For all the talk about how superior 'Merica is I've been really surprised how most 3rd World Countries have better looking roads than a lot of the USA. When you spend money building up your own country rather than bombing other ones and then paying to rebuild their infrastructure it's amazing what can happen.

I do know that there is still a wealth gap but the belief that everyone else has dirt floors and drinks toilet water is a bit silly.
