Come on they are models! Your average person in the west, never mind Africa, can't take professional pictures like these.
If you are going by picture quality then you cannot be too sure Anyone can take a picture of descent quality of a good looking person, doesn't necessarily mean they are models...
For all we know they could be surgeons They're not meant to be representatives of every Ethiopian/Eritrean either, a lot of ethnic groups there that all look different.
I know for sure though the one Irene posted is a model/supermodel, Liya Kebede.
The worse is when a black lady dyes her hair blonde then looks at us (whites) like "problem?!" as if trying to compete with us and throw it in our face. Their insecurity is so outrageous that I actually feel sorry for the ones who do that..
I was out shopping the other day and saw an older (50's?) black woman with bleach blonde hair glaring at me over the isles. She followed me around with this seething hatred and I know it had nothing to do with anything besides race... you can tell the ones who have a stick up their rear on the race issues. She was one of them. The sad thing is.. I was nothing but nice to her until she started menacingly stalking me. Psh.
I love the ones who are THEMSELVES without trying to be someone else.. beautiful.
Do you make similar assumptions about, and judge women of other races and skin color, who for whatever reason, decide to dye their hair? Do they, in your opinion, also have these deep insecurity problems? What if that older lady (who you obviously didn't exchange a word with) was actually just going about her business with her dyed hair (here, about 70% of working-age ladies regardless of race do that) while you were running these wild scenarions about her racial and psychological problems in your head?
To emphasize the importance of the growth of alternative media/channels: FCKYEAHPRETTYAFRICANS
Women like the ones below don't fit within our media's perception of beauty...and what a shame it is. Thankfully more people are starting to de-colonize their minds from a Euro-centric perspective on beauty. Nonetheless, still a lot of work ahead of us as a society to get women (and men) to appreciate their natural selves.
