Yeah there is a beach. Cities on rivers and ponds have beaches too.

I'm in South Beach, your entire downtown is office spaces and garages for the most part.

As someone that has no idea what they are talking about, and openly states that are nearly 1000 miles away from a place they are commenting on, I would probably stop before you get yourself any deeper

I've been to Chicago enough to comment. And I will, if you don't like my opinion, that's too bad.

Judging by your comment, you are completely ignorant on the topic of what is and is not in downtown Chicago.

People are voting Chicago, why?

Miami is much more popular internationally. Chicago more popular within the U.S., but Miami is definitely the more known and talked about city internationally. How people are saying otherwise is beyond me. Chicago beats Miami in a lot of things, but this isn't one of them.

^^^You continuously prove how ridiculous you are, to the point where I don't think you've left South FL and I doubt you live in Miami Beach. Maybe Sweetwater. lol

I voted Miami - I think it's the clear winner here in terms of international recognition and fame, today (this question just 2 decades ago or prior? no way in h**l). However, your gross mis-characterization of DT Chicago is borderline negligent. Miami is NOTHING without lax zoning laws and lack of NIMBYism to allow for so many ugly condo boxes to house tangible bank accounts for Latins. Miami is nothing without Miami Beach. What is DT Miami??? DT Chicago, including the River North and Lincoln Park areas is what makes Chicago such a world class city. Offices and garages alone? You are insane. And you proved it already in that whole weather debate we had in another thread.

I am not sure it is worth arguing with a poster sufficiently deluded to think that the urbanity of South beach can compare, let alone exceed the urbanity of the Loop or actually any neighborhood on Chicago's north side!

We can compare Zip Codes, and see which zip code has more to do, just saying, I live in an area probably denser than the loop of Chicago.
