There are slum-like neighborhoods in Seoul, if I remember.

Gangnam, shanty-style: life in Seoul's Guryong Village slum

Apparently. I remember seeing many rural areas with similar-looking slum-like villages.

I never said this YOU did.

I think YOU'RE the one who doesn't understand ''this particular topic''
That's because the West is more more socially and economically developed, and more modern. You, however, are making out like becoming wealthier and more socially progressive is not a good thing for Africa or the Middle East because that, in your mind, equates to 'Westernisation' or 'whiteness' and goes against their culture, as if intolerance and poverty are ingrained parts of African culture. When I, or anyone else, says Africa could benefit from becoming more like the West, we mean wealthier, and less intolerant (like Uganda making homosexuality illegal). It has nothing to do with their culture being eradicated, or whatever nonsense you are implying.

I don't think you understand what you're arguing for here.

I must admit that in SP we have some runned-down places full of rubbish and miserable people - although it has more to do with drugs than properly to misery. But in general only one or two blocks - absolutely nothing in such extension like in Lagos. It's very sad.
