Mexico city. While NyC skyscrapers area (mainly Manhattan) is quite impressive, highly developed urban areas are way bigger and more impressive in Mexico DF
Thanks for going straight up to the "favelas" and picture it like an average suburb

How big is Buenos Aires? Wouldn't Sao Paulo have been a better match up against Mexico and NYC?
Both Meico City, BA and SP are very close in size (altough i think BA is a bit bigger).
SP definitely is the most overwhelming here.
BA and DF are quit similar in this category. BA has more less dense suburbs like this: https://www.google.com.ar/maps/@-34....ld8_I4BjAQ!2e0
But, on the otherhand, has more vertical develop around its centre, with several neighborhood looking like this, wich are uncomon in DF: https://www.google.com.ar/maps/@-34....0140701T000000
Haven't been to the other two, but Mexico City really is something else. When I flew in from Charlotte, NC, I could see sprawl from the city probably from 45 minutes before landing on the descent. Obviously, the plane is travelling significantly slowler than at cruising speed, but it's really crazy to think of how extensive that must mean it is. It just swallows up everything around the valley of Mexico BUT the volcanoes.
Mexico city feels bigger, most fast paced, also far more colorful!!!
Buenos aires is quite large but it feels as fast as NYC
Mexico city on the other hand is like Shanghai (fast fast fast)
no city anywhere however matches Hong kong in fast pacedness
