In the United States, it seems impossible to find a type of business that hasn't been adapted to a drive-thru format. Most banks and credit unions have drive-thrus; most of your major fast food chains do; and most of your pharmacies (except those within hospitals or clinics) do, as well. I used to decry this fact until 2014 when I lost a great amount of mobility on my right side. That's coming back, but I can imagine how it would be for single parents or the disabled / elderly.

Which businesses have drive-thrus in your country?

I wonder how much it varies in different parts of the country. Here in SoCal we do have drive-through banks (but our own bank does not have one), and of course fast food, but I've never been to a drive-through pharmacy. And I've heard that in some areas, libraries have drive-through windows where you can return books and check out holds. I've never seen that either--just an outside bin to drop off books. Even drive-through coffee places are few and far between. On a trip to Washington we were amazed to see drive-through coffee on almost every corner, even on the far eastern side of the state.

Perhaps areas with more inclement weather have more drive-throughs?

Basically none. I haven't seen any at all here in china. No space in the big cities and no money in the countryside...

Oh dear. I hate to notify you that drive-through liquor "barns" are concentrated in Texas. How very sad to be compared to Texas.

We only have drive thrus at fast food restaurants. But even those aren't really common in cities.

Drive thru banks blew my mind when I was in the US. That was a pretty foreign concept to me.
