Hmm. Much more balanced. I'll also add that most midlatitude locations in the seasons with longer daylight are on daylight savings time. So, even those in white or green have a shifted solar noon.

Explains how different our schedule compared to Western's

Japan also live on similar schedule as Indonesia I think. Tokyo has 11:42 mean solar noon

For Tallinn, if you want the earliest sunrise to be later than 6 AM, the time zone should be at least 2 hours ahead of what it is now. Sunset at the latest would be nearly 1 AM with civil twilight (dusk) past 2 AM!

Helsinki even worse, clock should be turned ahead at least 3 hours (to the nearest round timezone, not half-hour). Sunset would be almost 2 AM with civil dusk still linger til 4 AM! Even on cloudy nights, you would have to wait till 3:30-4AM for some darkness!! Not sure if that would be preferred over 6AM sunrise

I am not a fan of prolonged dusks as in northern latitudes , I find it eerie in a bad way. If I had a choice I'd opt for the short sunset period (1/2 hour) in tropical locations, I find that magic. I guess I'm in the minority here, most people on CD, living in N America and N Europe, enjoy the prolonged daylight -"BBQ time"-(even if it is mostly artificial , due to the Daylight Savings Time system) in spring and summer after the long nights of winter.

Strangest place for late sunrise/sunset is Xinjiang, China - was there last month and it was strange to see sun rise at 8:00 am and set 8 pm (beginning part of April). I prefer earlier sunrise/sunset.

I've lived in all 3 zones and I like them all for different reasons. I probably prefer white and red a little more then green, but even the green zone I liked. Waking up early can be a treat occasionally, but all the time, maybe not.

I've always found it fascinating how different some border crossing times zones can be. Vloviostok to China is a 3 hour time difference or China and Afghanistan is 3.5 hour difference. Are there any more extreme then that? Or how Russia has time zones that skip an hour, that seems very strange to me.
