This map show the "offset" between solar time and standard time all over the world.

Red = relatively late sunrises and sunsets. Average solar noon without DST is later than clock noon. Located west of the standard timezone meridian (GMT offset hours * 15 longitude). Like Paris. I hate that designation - i'm a morning person starting at like 5 am

White/mild colour/neutral = normal / average sunrises and sunsets. Avg solar noon without DST is so close to 12:00. Like london.

Green = relatively early sunrise and sunsets. Average solar noon without DST is earlier than clock noon. Located east of standard timezone meridian. Like eastern India or eastern Java. I like this!!! especially like here in the deep tropics with constant daylight I prefer sunrises at like 5 or earlier... I don't mind the 5pm sunsets year round.

What's your preference ? Green/early sunrises/sets, neutral/average, or Red/late sunrise/sets ? Mine's the first of course. I'm an early bird

Average people tend to have late sunsets, thats why the map has red/late sunsets tendency (i'm one of the few that think the opposite "anti-mainstream" lol)

Parisian are working rather late, the majority of the people don't leave office before 6pm.
Late sunset are great for Paris.

Basically I don't need sunlight before 6AM.
Like I said before in Weather forum, I prefer western edge of the standard time zone. (Around 7.5 longitude west)
Which happens 12:28PM solar noon in winter solstice and 1:32PM(DST) solar noon in summer solstice for Northern Hemisphere.

I like late sunsets, with sunrises that are around normal.

I hate early sunsets, and would sacrifice the mornings to cover for that.

At the moment, this is what we have roughly:

Dec 21: 8am - 3:50pm
Jun 21: 4:40am - 9:20pm

My ideal out of the available daylight we have would be:

Dec 21: 9:10am - 5pm
Jun 21: 5:20am - 10pm

And my absolute ideal for my dream climate at about 33N latitiude:

Dec 21: 8:15am - 6pm
Jun 21: 6:45am - 9:15pm

I like late sunrises and sunsets. No need for the sun to be up at 5-6 am for me.

I like late sunsets and sunrises, unfortunately my city is positioned just in the middle of the time zone so we don't experience them
