I want health care for all americans. I recently saw Sicko and admire countries like Sweden, Norway, and Canada in taking a stand and promoting and ensuring health care for their citizens... It is a great way to build the middle-class...People that aren't healthy can't work, and if people can't work they are poor, people are healthier in those countries and the middle-class can prosper... In America it just seems like the rich and the poor... And if it means a hike in taxes, than so be it, if it benefits our nation short term and long term, than why not?

Your thread seems centered on your impression that the US is becoming a less prosperous place to live.

The World forum really isn't the proper venue for a debate on how great the United States of America may or may not be; City Data's Politics and Other Topics forum would be a more suiatable place to pursue this particular discussion.
