Imagine: you have to move to any Arabic country. You can choose any of them, but you'll have to live in the chosen country for rest of your life. Which country would you choose?
I've had the unfortunate 'pleasure' of working in Arabia in several different countries in the region for a few years. Of course the standard best place is Dubai and Abu Dhabi in UAE. An underrated place is Bahrain....not so bad. Qatar isn't terrible. I haven't been but heard Jordan is a decent. Everywhere else, I wouldn't go back there.
Tall, I'm surprised you didn't mention Oman just SE of the UAE. I agree Dubai is doable for the rest of my life but Oman is a "liberal" (for ME) country like Dubai but instead of flat desert it has spectacular Baja-type mountain/canyon scenery, spectacular coastline, and their citizens are very friendly and have a strong work ethic - even for blue collar work. (not as much oil as Abu Dhabi, can't import millions of guest workers). Summer is too hot of course but as long as I had money for AC, no problem. Winters are GLORIOUS !
