So Paris, Buenos Aires and London all have relatively similar urban/metropolitan populations. From what I've read on here, Buenos Aires is a bit more vibrant/chaotic than either Paris or London- I'm curious to hear more opinions, though. Do you think that Buenos Aires (were it in Europe) would be Europe's most vibrant metropolitan area?

Not at all. I think London, Paris, Barcelona, Madrid would all compete and maybe outrank.

Do the streets in BA feel somewhat empty for a metro of 13.1 million? Madrid and Barcelona are MUCH smaller metros at ~6 million and ~5 million respectively, so they'd have to *incredibly* vibrant to outdo BA (which has ~13.1 million in its metro)

Overall BA. Because is "bustlier" than London and Paris outside the centre, and in the case of the UK capital, BA has a bigger "critical core" of bustling.
In the center the comparation is closer. Maybe London and Paris both win here because they are a biggers touristics hubs.

I don't think that a strict comparison of metros is the right answer here. Have you ever been to Madrid and Barcelona?. Their downtown cores are extremely dense and are packed with people day and night. And they receive a huge number of tourists. Both cities bustle far more at night than BA.

It is silly to ask whether BA feels "somewhat empty for a metro of ........No it doesn't feel empty either but BA is surrounded by large suburb cities like La Plata which have a life and vibrancy of their own, quite separate from BA.

I don't think that BA can hold a candle to Moscow, london, Istanbul, or Paris. It would be probably equivalent to Rome or Barcelona.

Moscow is a police state, wouldn't call it vibrant in its current manifestation.

Buenos Aires would be in the top 5, but definitely below London and Paris.

What? of course that BA hold a candle to Moscow (Moscow? try to go there on January), London and Paris. BA is very bustly, and not only in his centre.

Comparison. X Avenues, miles from main centre:

BA

10 miles west from Plaza de Mayo:

7.5 miles north from Plaza de Mayo:

London

7.5 miles west from Trafalguar Square:
