Why?? There are no western leaders willing to stand up to Putin. That is a great question for Obama, Cameron, Harper, Hollande and Murkel. These Western leaders are following the lead of Neville Chamberlin, they are so afraid of conflict that they project weakness by doing nothing in the face of raw aggression against a once modern European nation. (Ukraine) Dictators around the world have gotten a repreave in recent years with the current appeasement policies of the Western powers.

Afraid of conflict? in other words if Russia didn't had nuclear weapons they would get their asses kicked out of Eastern Ukraine within a week.

Well, at least at the G20 summit, when Putin extended his hand out to Harper, Harper said "I guess I'll shake your hand, but I have only one thing to say to you: You need to get out of Ukraine."

Of course, Putin replied with "That's impossible, because we are not there"

lol

A strong Nato response would likely get them out of Ukraine without a war. A movement of a large force into eastern Europe, military aid to the Ukraine government and the movement of Naval forces into the Baltic region would send a very strong message to Putin that his actions in Ukraine will not be tolerated. The game is all about making Putin think we are willing to go to war, and then hope that he is not crazy enough to make us go through with it. That was the game we played successfully during the cold war era, and it is the game we should be playing now. The people of Ukraine were counting on us and they have been let down. Had they been a NATO member we would have been required by treaty to help them but since they were not they have been left to the wolves.

Lol good riddance. Russia has always been part of Europe, and Ethnic Russians (slavs) are 100% Europeans.

You're just an anti-Russian troll anyways.

Well, over MH17, at least the Australian PM, Abbott did vow to "shirt front" Putin. Which was kinda funny to use a colloquialism that no one else in the world was going to understand.

Tony Abbott vows to 'shirtfront' Vladimir Putin over MH17 tragedy

So.....it's not the same as to "jersey" someone, like we do in Canada? Because I would have been much more impressed with Harper if he said that. And then did it right on the stage at the meeting. lol

hmm, its more when a player runs straight through another, often resulting in injury and or concussion, lol
