With so many destitute people in the world and the world running out of space for people, do you think we should start to think about colonizing Antarctica and building cities there to help the worlds poor and refugees? It may seem like a crazy idea but at least this way, they won't be a burden to anyone and there are lots of natural resources that they can learn to exploit and sell. As long as they are equipped for the cold and you provide proper structures and food and clothing start with, they could learn to survive peacefully there.
No I don't think that we should colonize. There are still lots of empty space mainly western US/Alaska, Canada, Russia, and Central Asia that are relatively empty.

Same with Australia, New Zealand, Mongolia and Greenland.
I think yes. I see no reason for not having Greenland-style towns in the coast of Antarctica.
But Greenland-style towns are small. It would be very difficult for a larger town to sustain itself in Antarctica.
What kind of economic activity could be done in Antarctica? Fishing? Mining? Tourism? Huge datacenters that don't need much artificial refrigeration because it's naturally very cold?
Our world population is expected to hit 10 billion very soon... we may not run out of space but it will be more crowded.
Plenty of space in Canada.
