American football players are bigger and stronger than in rugby, you can hit with no arms, hit blind spots, shoulder charge, etc. You can literally lay a motherf'er out in American football. In rugby, it's all technical bs... must wrap arms around, can't lift off feet, have to go down with him, etc. LOL if American football didn't use gear, players careers would end so quick.
Easy to say that the NFL is tougher when in American football you're covered with protective gear all over, while in rugby it's skin on skin. You realise which sports is the one where the players carry a HELMET? Kids and women wear helmets, lolz.

So what you're saying is, a Rugby player would be able to take hits like that and be just fine? LOL

It doesn't start after the 1 hour mark, it's right off the bat!

If I hit my toes against the door, I don't throw myself down and don't need a stretcher to carry me away.

You would like to, though. With a bit of exaggeration you get time to suffer trough the worst pain and come back into play more or less fit. Even better - somebody carries you off the pitch so you can catch your breath as well.

It's like in FPS games if you heal while staying in cover, you're just stupid not to use it. NO I REAL STRONK EASTERN EUROPE MAN KURRRRRWAAA RATATATA!

I am very aware of that (I am a British Citizen myself), the question is why did places with heavy British colonial influence adopt cricket and rugby, or make up their own variation of British sports (ALF, NFL, Baseball, Ice Hockey etc) rather than adopt the most popular sport in the country?

Football would hardly even exist in Australia if it were not for the influences of post WW2 immigrants from the European mainland.
