Top:

Tokyo
London
NYC
Buenos Aires
Osaka
Madrid
Barcelona
Melbourne
Sydney
Amsterdam

Bottom:

Most depressing (not counting suburbs -- e.g. Camden) -
Toledo, OH
Youngstown, OH
Charleston, WV
Jacksonville, FL
Houston, TX
Charleroi, Belgium

Not terrible but didn't live up to expectations -

Dublin (didn't get what the hype is all about; can do it in half a day)
Glasgow (maybe caught it on a bad day, but looked pretty gloomy)
Malmo (expected more from Sweden's third largest city)
Charleston, SC (perfectly fine and cute, but extremely overrated)
Prague (didn't like the vibe; totally overrun with tourists; might need to give it another try)

Rearranged my list a bit, this time more on personal experience

1. Lima - Ugly and dirty, and also the most amazing place I have ever been in my life. Crazy nightlife, great culture, mindblowing cuisine, beautiful girls, dancing, pisco, parks, plazas, history, insane city in general!
2. Boston - Amazing city that feels much bigger than its population would indicate. Some of the best architecture in the world, a mix of American and European buildings. Boston has a charm that's hard to replicate, and the people are surprisingly warm for the Northeast!
3. Valparaiso - The Pearl of the Pacific, a stunning city with equal parts charm and grittiness. A paradise for street art. Great nightlife too, you will find yourself walking back home at 5am in the morning quite often
4. Mendoza - A charismatic Western town in Argentina, think Dodge City, but with wine, mountains, and great weather! Sort of like Boston, it's a "little big city" where you feel like you're in a big metropolitan city except that people are just as relaxed as you would expect from a small village. If the nature (Mendoza has the tallest peak in South America) doesn't charm you, the world class wine certainly will
5. New York - The skyline that will never leave your mind, world class cuisine, and as the song says "the streets will make you feel brand new" and it's true, walking on the street in NYC feels like being in a different world. It's an amazing place to be
6. Buenos Aires - What Lima is to cuisine, Buenos Aires is to architecture. I did a half-assed last second trip not knowing much in BA and still had a blast, felt like I easily walked 100 kilometres there. Feels like the entire city is a museum and if you love architecture like me, Buenos Aires has to be on your bucket list!
7. Santiago - Actually an underrated city, the Downtown area is just stunning with beautiful French as well as modern architecture, great drinks, beautiful parks and museums. I wouldn't travel across continents just to come here, but if you're in the Southern Cone this place is worth a few days
8. Dublin - Really cool city with beautiful architecture and great shopping! Clean and organized and a nice place to relax
9. Viña del Mar - Valparaiso's rich but less exciting neighbor lol, very safe and modern, beautiful beach too!

02. Barcelona
03. Tel-Aviv
04. Busan
05. Brisbane
06. Vancouver
07. Seoul
08. London
09. Tokyo
10. Hong Kong

Pretty much the same list as September 27th, 2016 with only Brisbane and Vancouver swapping spots (Brisbane up from 6th to 5th, Vancouver down from 5th to 6th).

Bottom 10:

02. Philadelphia
03. Philadelphia
04. Philadelphia
05. Philadelphia
06. Philadelphia

I just really don't like Philadelphia. I'm not going to undermine anyone that lives there that loves it, but I'm glad that I don't have to live there.

It moved out of the list since the start of this thread. Actually, New York hasn't been in either of my last two updates, the last two updates from September 27th and December 6th. Although on September 27th, New York was still an honorable mention.

I phased New York out. I realize now that I don't need it anymore. I've grown to like London immensely in the 16 months I've lived here. As it concerns me, London fills all my needs for everything I would have needed New York for.
