I am from Southern Nigeria and life was ****ty. Southern Nigeria is only marginally better than Northern Nigeria and if we are talking the best places on the continent Muslim North Africa bests most of the Christian countries in most measures of quality of life. The best thing about Southern Nigeria is Lagos, Oil in Niger Delta and a relatively smart population of Igbos and to a lesser extent Yorubas. The north would be a terrible place to live even if it wasn’t Islamic as the only detriment Islam has against the north is Education but education is terrible is both areas so it’s like comparing a terrible area to a terrible area. I am half Yoruba and my ethnicity is 30% Muslim and 60% Christian, most large southern cities especially were the Yoruba live have a high Islamic population already it’s not like I was isolated from fundamentalist Islam. If you want to go to the most props period areas of Nigeria besides wealthy Christian Lagos their is religiously mixed Abuja. One thing you don’t know is hat most of the military is dominated by Hausa leaders and majority of the entire army is Islamic, yet they fight Boko Haram, Chad a country even more Islamic than us fights Boko Haram.
