It's difficult where the world capital between NY and London. I think both can be the capital of the world, but there will be different style. For New York, it will be capital about fashion while London I think it will be capital about modernization.

That actually looks pretty nice.

A 2011 article on the topic: 1843 Magazine: What is the capital of the world?

Interesting format for this type of essay with a number of different authors weighing in with their arguments on the contenders for this title, from Washington DC, to Shanghai, Beijing, Singapore and so on. It gives the prize to London though:

"So London is our unofficial global capital, the new New York. And if you think that conclusion wrong, your scepticism has a distinguished lineage. New York may seem the obvious choice for the UN headquarters now, but it did not look that way to everyone at the time: among those voting against it were Britain, France and the Netherlands."

I agree.

Should we go with Halifax in Yorkshire as the Unofficial World Capital or should we stick with Bradford, what is the official line on the unofficial Capital.

Well, either way it is in West Yorkshire, that fact should be obvious. I am strongly leaning Bradford.

Bradford is the center of world fashion, this is due to its multi-ethnic populace, idea's from the world over in just one city, Halifax is nice no doubt but I am afraid it is playing second fiddle to Bradford. Perhaps we need a Bradford v Halifax thread?

I agree Bradford is centre of textile industry, although Barnsley's Arthur Scargill Collection is outstanding this year apparently.
