I'm part of a bicycle riding club. 2 are a married Dutch couple, one is German, two are American.They bike ride in Baja California and hang out in Tijuana all the time. They even learned Spanish (one American guy lived in Chile for a while). They travel alot to bike ride in other cities, countries, etc...
Its just him. Lol
I've been all over Thailand, saw rats, roaches, scorpions, snakes, monkey's, some area's it smelled like $hit, some people tried to charge me more for being a White foreigner but i never feared for my life.
I was only 8 hours in Cozumel and got robbed by 3 Mexicans plus 1 Mexican scammed me with fake ganja and coca.
For "safety and health concerns", an average tourist can only visit places with comfortable hotels, continental buffets, shopping options, museums ... however, most places in the world aren't accommodated to the tourist level of amenities, and thus are off limit.

I wouldn't call somebody getting hold to the ground by 2 persons while the 3rd person takes all the money out of somebody's wallet "free entertainment".
