Canada's medical system is 100% government. Canada in it's governance and social and societal views in much more like Europe {especially Northern Europe and France for Quebec} and Australia is far more British.

Um, our health insurance is to a point. Extra private insurance is available for those who want extra things covered, but doctors, clinics, some hospitals and even the lab we go to for tests are private. They just have to follow the Canada Health Act, and charge their respective provincial health authorities the pre-set fees.
For instance for labs.

I think you know this, but I just wanted to clarify to those that don't, that saying that our whole system is 100 percent government gives people the wrong idea.
Because it's all so integrated and people just walk into basically any medical facility and show their CareCard and get the care. No insurance forms to fill out, no clerks checking to see what's covered by your insurance or not etc. It can appear sometimes as one big machine.
