You know, people from Lebanon are also Asian. So are Saudis, Persians, Israelis, Syrians, and most Turks. And there are a bunch of them in Paris, too. Your teacher is able to look at someone and tell if they're Lebanese (Asian) vs. Algerian (African)?
|
Persians and Arabs are Asian by continent, but they're White by race.

Members are asked to stick with the topic of thread and discuss their choices for World's Best City. This thread is not a discussion about racial makeups or origins

Tokyo, I'm moving there in a few months!
After that it's COS.
And take Denver off please, Denver isn't in the least bit a great city, it's characterless and culture less, and it's filled with smog.

You can't say one city on Earth is best. Best at what? London, New York, and Tokyo are pretty much understood to be at the top of their respective regions in importance but what makes them better than somewhere else? Paris trumps London with fashion, food (although London is improving) but London reigns supreme in Europe as a business center and is growing more important globally by the day. This is just one example of how difficult his question is to answer.

I am confused as to why Indianapolis is on this list. No offense to my Hoosier neighbors.

It's even not true. Actually, Paris makes as much buisness as London.
London turnover in the world
Wiki is just one source among a lot....

100 of the 500 largest European companies are headquartered in London.
London is the leading financial and banking center in the world...
Brochure - London: world international financial capital - UK
Alot of good stats on that site. Another one is that London has the largest foreign exchange market is the largest in the world, than NY and Tokyo put together!
I never said PAris isn't a site for business, but it doesn't quite measure up.

Here is what Wiki says :
Quote:
|
London is the world's second largest financial centre after New York and has the 6th largest city economy in the world after Tokyo, New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and Paris.
|
your statment didn't say anything about Finance or banks.... You said : London reigns supreme in Europe as a business center .
Finance is a buisness among others, for example, Paris reigns supreme in Europe as a luxurary buisness center.
So I repeat it's not true. Buisness doesn't mean Finance.
As for the most headquarters :
Fortune - World headquarters - CNN
Paris : 26
London : 22
I don't know what is your figure, but it doens't seem very relevant actually....
Just to be sure you have understood what I'm saying :
List of cities by GDP
But you know, Paris or London, it's almost the same.... it's the big four 'Tokyo, New York, Paris and London". So it doesn't change anything actually.
Here is a very good study about that : PFNYC

It depends how you define 'best'. If you literally just mean 'favourite' then I'd either go with New York or Chicago.
