With "most beautiful country" the OP means natural scenery + cities, right? In that case, i've to say Italy overall. That country could be in the dicctionary as a synonym of "beautiful", for sure.
Surprised that a lot mentioned Chile but none Argentina, since those two share a lot of scenery in common, and beyond that, Argentina has more other landscapes that Chile doesn't than the other way around.
Italy is a good candidate.
Amalfi Coast, Lake Como, Dolomites, volcanos (dangerous, but indeed beautiful), beautiful architecture, magnificent historical buildings, beautiful cities and towns everywhere... few countries have so many and diversified beautiful things - both natural and man-made.
1. USA (Because of the sheer mass and diversity...and CA, UT, AZ, CO, MT could all hold their own on a top 10 list)
2. New Zealand
3. Norway
4. Maldives or Turks & Caicos (for the best beaches)
5. Argentina
6. Scotland
7. Mongolia
8. Italy (especially Tuscany)
9. France (especially the southern coast)
10. South Africa (especially around Cape Town)

True. But most of Argentina is the ugly pampas. I though I was in Texas.
-USA (the sheer vastness and diversity of landscape/climate makes the USA number one in my book)
-Turkey (the architecture, alone, makes this a beautiful place)
-India (I traveled up and down the west coast and got a fair appreciation for a significant part of the country and its beauty)
-Canada
-Australia
Forgot the rest:
Canada--I don't know it's not getting more mentions. There is beauty on both coasts and in the Canadian Rockies. Perhaps there's no Grand Canyon, but there is much rugged beauty.
Canada is such an underrated country for everything: culture, landscapes, architecture, wildlife, winter/summer sports, etc.
I think Americans tend to use their vacation time to travel to other places (i.e. Europe, etc.) hence Canada not being on most people's radar.
