for majestic mountains & Lakes, the American West, Montana & especially Alaska.

Europe is pretty, but the most interesting aspects ( for me) is the history & architecture. I do feel the American West is on a much grander scale to much of Europe. The lakes are so huge.

There is no doubt the USA is a blessed nation when it comes to scenery, as it is vast and diverse. Because of its vast size it is easy to find a lot of beauty here. There is something for everyone. However there are smaller countries that are unbelievably beautiful. When it comes to beauty per square Mike they beat us hands down. I have neen to Switzerland and was absolutely stunned by how beautiful it was.
Another nation I have not been to but believe it must be vastly beautiful is New Zealand. Any one who has looked at the scenery in those lord of the rings movies can see how pretty that place must be.

I have also been to Switzerland, several times, & while many of the mountains are beautiful, & the villages & chalets so quaint, I still think Alaska or Montana, will give it a run for its beauty, in terms of grand vistas & majestic scenery. Switzerland will beat us, in quaintness &cuteness, which is why I say the architecture in Europe is so great. Or for granite walls Yosemite is hard to beat.

I have yet to see the Mountains in Asia or South America so I can't comment on them.

Switzerland is the most beautiful by the square mile. The US by sheer abundance of areas with beautiful scenery. The US also has very large areas of boring corn, wheat and soybean fields.
