Where in Japan are you going to? If you're flying into Tokyo, most things are in the Greater Tokyo area (Kanto) you may want to check out (and maybe google to get info on them):

- Tokyo (Shinjuku, Roppongi, Harajuku, Shibuya, Ginza, Central Tokyo, Imperial Palace, Meiji Park/Shrine, Tokyo Tower)
- Yokohama (another nice city just 30 min. from Tokyo)
- Kamakura (Big Budda statue)
- Hakone (hot springs)
- Mt. Fuji
- Mt. Tsukuba
- since you'll be there in August, some beaches like Enoshima or Chiba area
- Kyoto (lots of temples)

That's all I can think of for now. I'll add more if I think of anything else. Have fun in Japan!

I'm going to Japan from 28th July to 16th August.

I'm going to:

- Tokyo and his quarters (+ Disneyland I love it);
- Nikko;
- Hakone and boat tour in Ashi lagoon to see Mount Fuji;
- Kamakura;
- Yokohama;
- Takayama;
- Kyoto;
- Nara;
- Osaka ( + Universal Studios );
- Hiroshima and Miyajima;
- return to Tokyo and depart.

This is my plan. Is it ok?

Thanks for your recommend!
ciao

japan is awesome. i'm surprised they don't promote tourism from the US more, i think it's cheaper than europe these days (even with the pricier flights).

of course tokyo/yokohama/and such.
take the bullet train from tokyo to akita
akita is a northern city, with beautiful surroundings, more relaxed and friendly all around.
chiba prefecture along the pacific is really cool, kinda like the california of japan,super clean beaches with big waves.
if you have friends there, a drive across the tokyo bay bridge/tunnel/aqua-line is really cool.

My movement will be by Japan Rail.

Is the zone that?
Is it near to Tokyo by JR?

I'm watching if I can put these places in my trip
Many thanks!
