NYC or Moscow
I've noticed, whenever I come across people who say something like this, they tend to be either hipsters, into the gritty urban style, or have a preference for african-american "ghetto cool". If you work in finance or media it tends to be the other way round.

Brussels is the capital of the EU, with part of the Parliament in Strasbourg in France and of course Geneva and the Hague also host international organisations.

As for the EU it has low levels of economic growth, high levels of corruption and is really a mess, it can't even control it's own borders.

Britain will look to do some form of deal but to be honest in terms of finance we are well out of it.

The Eurozone is a mess, the future financial transaction tax which will see an EU Tax on all Financial Transactions is a mess, the Common Consolidated Corporate Tax Base (CCCTB) whereby corportation tax is standardised throughout the EU is a mess and the EU even tried to excude London from the Eurozone when we were a full member of the EU in 2015, which was well before Brexit. Such poorly though out policies would seriously damage our financial services if we stayed in the EU.

The London Stock Exchange (LSE) was even prevented from merging with Deutsche Boerse as the EU thought it would threaten their own stock exchanges.

However the LSE will now be free to merge and grow as it wishes, and increasing market capitalisation through nnew opportunities and even a merger between Nasdaq and the London Stock Exchange would make the most sense to London. London markets to the vast majority of their trade with the US and Far East rather than the EU and if anything London and the UK will have to become more global and international after leaving the EU and not less.

There could be no one capital of the world. Capital of the new world = New York. Capital of the old world = London. Capital of the far east = Beijing or Tokyo. But yeah, say Aliens come here and they would come to one city to discuss important universal matters...New York would be a good choice given that America is the leading nation of the world right now.

Any Political power? any innovative policing work to keep the streets safe? some techy touch screens placed around the city? major sports teams? media outlets? manufacturing facilities; an aquarium? world class colleges? a rotating restaurant 1000 ft off the ground? casinos?
