Well, the setting of Rio de Janeiro is ethereal to me. When you are there and you see the wide sweeps of beach lined with tall white buildings, the blue ocean, and the incredible uniquely shaped mountains of Sugarloaf, Dois Irmaos, Gavea, you have to feel it's like a fantasy, drop-dead beautiful.
The city itself though at close hand brings you down from heaven to earth. Not much attractive.
