By surreal, I mean rather ethereal, strange or even a bit futuristic. It feels like you're in a different world or time period when you're there. I will start with these:

Astana, Kazakhstan:

Any others?

Default A couple of suggestions

Well, there are underground cities in Africa (see Blog - Underground City in Tunisia - AFRAN Study and Research Institute (Africa & Iran)), any homes built into cliffs like the temple in Indiana Jones & the last crusade (Petra - see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:P...rdan_BW_21.JPG), there's Gaudi's architecture in Spain (see https://www.bing.com/images/search?v...=28&ajaxhist=0), some of the surviving Bauhaus architecture in Germany https://www.bing.com/images/search?v...=56&ajaxhist=0) l...

An other city that is surreal for sure, Naypyidaw in Myanmar !

It's apparently a city that was build very fastly at a gigantic scale (bigger than NY) but now is totally empty as it doesn't attract any investors/people...

An other one again would be Havana in Cuba, thanks to its marvelous old-fashion cars
