Here is São Paulo, people use distance as an excuse for everything, yes there is a lot of traffic but it is not 24/7 yet people will play the traffic card way too much.
People are tight as a the Germans. Let's say you want to go out for drinks. They need to know exactly where what time to get there and what time to leave. And people will actually follow that like a written rule. With an amazing nightlife people tend to go to the same places

San Diego is similar with the traffic thing.

People in San Diego, the west coast in general but particularly San Diego are extremely flaky and unreliable. Plans here should always have a backup plan because 8 out of 10 times, the person or people will make up some excuse about why they can no longer follow through.

People here can also be very passive-aggressive which is a personal pet peeve that ranks near the top of my list.

People here are also sh1tty drivers!

San Diegans also tend to think that they live in the best place in the US. Weather is everything to people here. Mention another city and they will invariably talk about the weather there as if the city has nothing else to offer and as if the weather negates all else.

Bike lanes.

Some people go on and on about how the city is building too many bike lanes. Odd, since most of the people that I know who complain, don't ride bikes, and don't actually live and pay taxes in Vancouver.

West Texas: so many people here are VERY religious.. if we didn't have freedom of religion in the constitution, we'd probably be living in the Christian equivalent of Saudi Arabia.

people here love to rant about cyclists

They claim bikelanes take space off the street that could be used for cars, that cyclists are dangerous, never respect the rules, ride in the wrong direction, on the pavement under the porticoes (which are everywhere downtown here), do not respect the redlight, hit people walking, etc.

The reality is we have very few bikelanes, most of which are regularly used by people walking, or as parkings for motorbikes and cars, we have a very high pollution problem which puts it not very far behind Chinese cities, biking is dangerous because cars do not pay attention (most of which do not really respect speed limits and do not use sidelights for instance).

Also, this:

https://scontent-mxp1-1.xx.fbcdn.net...d9&oe=59AB412D

fishy statistics invented by someone who hates bikes and people who use them, yet is free to put this on every wall around his place.

A few months ago we finally had our first speed camera installed (in 2016, it's about time). Everyone complained it was a way for the city to make cash on these poor working people using their cars (because if you're on a bike it's because you're going on a trip, right ?). I think several million euros have been made in a few months'time with a 50 km/h speed limit on a street where people used to drive up to 90 before, regularly killing people in the process.

Also, downtown Bologna is forbidden to cars on weekends. Many people would like to re-establish car circulation. I hope they don't.
