There are no cities I must see. I prefer national parks and fresh air.

That's a good list to start.

I would add London, Madrid (Lisbon too, why not), Istanbul, Moscow and Beijing. All centers of major long-lasting regional or global empires of one kind or another, including Venice, even longer lasting than Madrid and Lisbon by far.

I haven't been to Moscow, Tokyo and Beijing, would like to visit Moscow if the chance ever arises, but time is running out.

But that's ten. If I had to whittle it down to five, then

Rome
Istanbul/Venice (pick one)
Paris
London/New York (pick one)
Moscow

Samarkand, Uzbekistan
Kyoto, Japan
Venice, Italy
New York City, USA
St.Petersburg, Russia

Those will give you a broad overview of the world. In terms of culture, politics, lifestyle, climate.

Doing a top 5 cities is a bit difficult for me as I wold like to visit multiple places of varying differences across the world. So I'll do 5 lists in a row of top 5s.

Top five cities I'd like to see in the Americas

-New York City
-Buenos Aires
-San Francisco
-Toronto
-Salvador

Still isn't enough..

Top five cities in Europe

-Lisbon
-Berlin
-Dublin
-Nice
-Porto

Top Five in Australia & Southeast Asia

-Sydney
-Melbourne
- Singapore
-Manila
-jarkata

Top four in Africa

-Cairo
-Nairobi
-Luanda
-Cape Town
(can't think of 5th option)

There are probably at least 50 cities you must visit before you die, so to pick 5 is fairly pointless, I will however attempt 10.

The cities I would visit in Europe would be -

London
Paris
Rome
Venice
Athens

Internationally (beyond Europe) -

New York
Bangkok
Rio De Janeiro
Beijing
Tokyo

Although Hong Kong and Sydney are also great cities.

Just New York City. Anything else is nice to have seen but I could happily die without having seen them.
