ATMs are commonly found at 7/11 stores in Tokyo, and 7/11 stores are on almost every other street corner... so... not so unusual. They just shut down for the night. It is peculiar that Japan still uses cash currency so routinely, when many other countries have made the move to largely electric payments such as with Debit cards.

State-of-the-art modern conveniences on expensive resorts if you're a tourist, but step outside the resort, and you are in another world, or even another era. I am not sure if hydrogen cars will succeed at all. Daimler (Mercedes) has now abandoned hydrogen car development. The French, Brits and Italians have a lot of technological know-how, and are at the forefront in developing performance cars and race cars (F1).
