The batter and texture are quite different...but they are chicken ( I hope ) and they are balls.

Lancaster,PA. Tons of Chinese restaurants. Aside from that, lots of Puerto Rican and Dominican restaurants, and several Vietnamese as well.

Mexican, but this is AZ, so that doesn't really count IMO.

Generic Chinese would be next. Honestly, that's pretty much anywhere in the U.S.

Brussels, Belgium. I would say Italian and French, followed by Viet/Thai.

Never thought I'd talk so much about chicken balls LOL
In the US at least, it would be extremely unlikely to order Sweet and Sour chicken (or pork) and not get batter dipped, deep fried pieces of meat with garish pinky red sauce. Maybe in some snooty restaurant that served upscale recreation of comfort food you could get it without the batter.

It's certainly not healthy and I assume it's not remotely Chinese. But as a rare treat, it is good!

Gentrification rising cost of living dilemmas is closing such vital restaurant landmarks right with my own current residency status. Tons of Pan Asian disappearing from just two years ago. Now any type of cuisine for World Class just isn’t even feeling ubiquitous enough anymore for now on. Equal distribution to any theme lately with Italian, Indian, Thai, Chinese, Middle Eastern, any further miscellaneous variety. On the contrary, supermarkets are somehow filling up with Vegetarian Indian cuisine even. Why is that the common feature at these venues?

For when I travel, not understanding why Nice French Mediterranean community isn’t actually capitalizing on their own authentic foods at regular frequency intervals. Yet Indian is becoming a bit too widespread in the wrong town.
