For this, I wanted to keep away from cities that were too large, and I wanted to at least include somewhere (for the most part) from every region of the world, though a disproportionate number of strong candidates came from along the Mediterranean. So...

-Suzhou, China
-Ubud (Bali), Indonesia (more of a resort, but still)
-Derinkuyu (Cappadocia), Turkey
-Prague, Czech Republic
-Florence, Italy
-Guanajuato, Mexico
-Cusco, Peru
-Marrakesh, Morocco
-Jerusalem, Israel
-Ronda, Spain
-Tallinn, Estonia
-Oia (Santorini), Greece
-Dubrovnik, Croatia
-Venice, Italy
-Annecy, France
-Varanasi, India
-Mecca, Saudi Arabia
-Cartagena, Colombia
-Havana, Cuba
-Iquitos, Peru
-Bruges, Belgium
-Amalfi, Italy
-Portofino, Italy
-Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Germany
-Mont St. Michel, France
-Damascus, Syria

I think other places might be more outstanding, but voting only on places I've been to in this group, I picked Dubrovnik. It seems like almost everything in the Old Town is intact, and it just has such a lively feel, with a perfect fusion into nature to boot. So many nooks and crannies to explore.

Two more I forgot, and wish I could add: Chefchaouen and Ait Benhaddou, both in Morocco (Morocco is REALLY strong here).
