Just curious if other peoples experience of rude people or hospitable people in different countries is similar or different to mine. What are the friendliest countries you have been to in terms of openness and helpfulness and the unfriendliest countries.

Rudeness and politeness do not have much to do with friendliness.

You can have rude (meaning brash, not very respectful of personal space, loud, etc...) but friendly and hospitable people and polite but unfriendly ones.

Yes, this ^^^
I also noticed that generally people are not rude to you if you are not rude and demanding to them.
Another thing is to try to know and understand their culture and customs, and respect it, and they will respect you.
I never met anyone who was rude to me for no particular reason.
BTW: not sure why, but that question is almost always asked by Americans. Nobody else seem to be questioning or bothered by that.

I don’t think disrespectfulness and friendliness go together. If you are disrespectful to someone, then you are not being friendly at all.

Well it is kind of the same thing if someone is rude it automatically makes them not polite and if they are friendly then they are polite, but the only people I can think of that are rude, but not on purpose, are the Germans they can be described as both rude and friendly but you can't be both so it's really just down to how you interpret them.

Yeah I lived there for 8 months when I was a student. Believe me, if you lived here for almost a year you would realize they are all rude and *******s.
