But "Paris" just sounds so pleasant in comparison.

Mehhh, most of those are beautiful names already. Love the sound of "Montreal" and "Vancouver". They should change Toronto to Fort Rouille tho, Fort Rouille sounds nicer

Gastown makes me think of a small town somewhere in the Midwest where time stood still, with only a motel and gas station in sight.
