Default Worst traffic in the Western world?

I would have made it a poll but there are just too many options. By "Western" I mean North America, Europe, and Australia/ NZ. Take other factors of driving into your answers- congestion, rudeness, congestion charges, etc.

What say you?

Los Angeles by far. But it is a fact that the worst traffic in the world is Sao Paulo, Brazil.

^ They don't overall, but Sao Paulo does and everyone drives. The freeways are narrow and congested and infrastrucure is poor. Sao Paulo is the largest city in the southern hemisphere and its infrastucture is comparable to a city the size of Atlanta or Detroit.

If you are really rich, you have your own helicopter!

I think that LA is worse than NYC. In NYC you at least have the option of taking the subway/train to avoid the traffic. In LA there aren't many options beyond taking the bus (which are also stuck in traffic). So everyone ends up sitting on the freeway during rush-hour.

Los Angeles, New York, London, and, yes, Sao Paulo. Nothing in Australia could remotely compare to these overcrowded cities. Sydney, the biggest city in Australia is a breeze compared to the above.

Default LA, SP, others

São Paulo is a traffic nightmare... beating Los Angeles and New York. But other US cities are quickly becoming traffic nightmares too: Atlanta, Houston, Phoenix. Also, the San Francisco Bay area and the Washington DC metro area are terrible for commuting.

Yes, Houston is getting very bad with all the people around the country moving to it. Also, LA is bad in that you can't take detours by going on the feeder roads since there aren't that many that will lead you to your destined place. If you take an exit, you can go off to oblivion!
