Firstly, apologies if I am on the wrong forum and secondly apologies for the length of query !
We recently sold our property in the Caribbean. We received an offer via one of the Realtors we had a contract with. We accepted the offer and signed the contract with purchaser (a). The sale went through some six months later. A week after that we received an email from a 2nd Realtor which we had a contract with saying they showed the house to (b) who was related to (a). They had registered (b) with us but we had no idea they were related to (a) as they had different names. The 2nd Realtor are now asking for their 6% of the sale price.

We have forwarded all of the above to the Attorney who handled the sale but have not to date received a reply.

As you can imagine this is all very worrying for us.

Hope someone can advise.

All I know is realtors make way too much money.

The average home in my neck of the woods is about $ 1 million
and they still insist on getting their 5 % commision.

They just have to sell a couple of houses to get a normal job salary,
the super stars with “teams” make millions.

With the internet ....do we really even need realtors anymore

You won’t have access to all the real estate listings in an area on the internet. Only a real estate agent has access to the entire mls in the U.S.

However, there are other ways to find out houses for sale, like driving around.
