I did BUNAC in London 20 years ago, and it was great. However, Britain is hugely expensive. You can live and work (illegally, largely teaching English) most anywhere, if you have the wherewithal to make it work. Developing countries are cheaper. If you were to go to a developing country, you could do it on airfare and perhaps a budget of $500 - $1,000 a month (without expecting your income to do much for you). I live in Tbilisi, Georgia right now, and think that's worth consideration. Enough English is spoken to get by, and the people are really cool. You could try the beaches of Thailand, but that might get old... and you'll likely just trade Americans for other vacationing expats.

You can try working for an airline or a cruise line. Resorts in Mexico and the Caribbean do hire people.
