North America actually comprises of 47 countries/territories, but the whole continent is heavily dominated by just 3 nations being Canada, Mexico and the United States. Which country do you think is overall the “4th” most prominent country in North America?

In terms of population, Guatemala is 4th.
In terms of land area, Greenland is bigger than Mexico.
In terms of GDP (nominal), Puerto Rico is 4th.
In terms of GDP (PPP), Cuba is 4th.

Overall I would say Cuba.

Their combined population and GDP is actually not high enough compared to Guatemala, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, etc.

I would say Cuba due to sheer influence.

Also due to potential. It's an island nearly the size of England which if administered well could become very productive.

I'd agree with Cuba. Puerto Rico is not a country.

Maybe Panama with all the developments taking place over there. It still fits the NA bill.

Panama is another influential player because of the Panama Canal and Panama City. Nicaragua is another potential influential player if the Nicaraguan Canal is ever built, though unlikely to happen. Furthermore Greenland is not a sovereign nation, it’s still part of Denmark, very much like Puerto Rico is a part of the US. But I think Cuba has the strongest case and brightest future.
