My vote is the St. Louis arch.
I don’t think most people know what the St Louis arch is.
I was also going to say Cristo Redentor of Rio de Janeiro but its debatable if 87 years is living memory considering life expectancy of the most advanced countries is 83 years.
I would say the Twin Towers from the World Trade Center, it fits perfectly in all the definitions.
Considering the existing structures, maybe the most recognizable is the Louvre Pyramid or the already mentioned Opera House.
