I met some blonde and more fair in complexion with blue eyes and some darker skin and dark hair.

In my own family which is Syrian and Lebanese we have the same variations and my husband's family has similar extremes.
I live some ~50kms from the Turkish border...there are plenty of turks over here and they're more or less the same as us eastern europeans, can't tell them apart.

But in other parts of the country like near other boarders they can and do look a bit different.
I know Turkish people that are darker and more fair .... black and brown eyes or blond with blue eyes. There is a signifcant amount of variety.

It's pretty self explanatory. Judging from the poll, a lot of people agree.

Medina is similar to Mecca in that only those who are professed Muslims can enter and consequences for doing so if you aren't are harsh, correct?

On that list, Beirut, Dubai, Amman, Tehran, Doha, Cairo, Alexandria also hold some level of appeal for me, though I'd feel more comfortable visiting some than others.

Yes, definitely recommend. Beaches are good, if busy with people playing volleyball and other beach sports but that adds to the atmosphere in my opinion. They were well advanced with renovating the promenade and cycle lanes so should be done by October another +. Water is crystal clear, city is vibrant but nothing in the terms of architecture apart from Jaffa.

You also have Jerusalem an hour away as well as the north; Haifa & Nazareth is also interesting. I would definitely be back to Israel, your other destinations are great options too though.

Tel-Aviv.

One of my true favorite cities on the planet. I also think Haifa, Doha, and Dubai bring a lot of qualities that are valuable as well. All around they are all stable places to live.
